Find a comfortable spot

It is more convenient to have a separate room to start your yoga exercises. If you can have space where you can keep your yoga mat unrolled, it is certainly inviting. You will feel the need to be more flexible as you proceed through different stages of yoga. It can be a space inside your house or in the garden. Wherever the place you choose, remember that the surroundings should be quiet and serene and most importantly should have space. In order to immerse more into the mood, you can simply adjust the atmosphere by lighting a candle or an incense stick. As time passes, these practices will create positive vibrations in the room providing comfort, strength and healing to you and others at home. It is not compulsory to have a yoga coach or teacher to start your journey. Everything around us is gradually adjusting to functioning in a virtual space therefore, you can refer to reliable tutorials or blogs such as Lifestyle Guide Online to reap the benefits of becoming a yogi or yogini.

What do you need?

Firstly, it is a non-slip yoga mat! There is no difficulty in purchasing a yoga mat these days, but it is worth paying some extra bucks for a good quality mat. It will be nice to have a bolster as well. It is true that these accessories are by no means a prerequisite to commence your yoga journey. It is just a matter of creativity!

Prevent injury, stay safe!

There are no shortcuts for this tip. There is no better person on earth who knows about your body than you. Be mindful and watch your boundaries in terms of vulnerable areas of your body. For instance, the spine, knees, neck and hips are particularly vulnerable areas in your body. A healthy lifestyle plan does not include any aspect to give pain to your body. By any given chance if you undergo any painful sensation, soften, adjust and come out of that pose. It is your own body, be gentle on it!

Choose your own yoga routine

Sit down and think why you need to practice yoga – what your mind and body need? Figure it out clearly whether it is because you need a better body image, a boost to weight loss, enhancing fitness, cardiovascular benefits or mindfulness. The more you practice yoga, the more you will be aware of the effects of different yoga techniques. It is recommended to pick a style, specific use and preferred duration. Once you get the grips with this art, you will be able to apply what you practised more in your life off the mat.

Relax with Savasana

After each session, give yourself some time to relax in Savasana. Simply put, it is a moment of heaven-sent letting go! It is during this reposeful moment and rests that you actually gain your strength. Do nothing because your nervous system needs time to assimilate the benefits and cool off what you gained from the yoga session.

Be consistent!

Make yoga a part of your daily schedule. Identify what works for you the most? At least thrice a week or every day. Keep in mind that twenty hours of daily yoga practice is prone to show positive results than two hours of occasional practice. Motivate yourself by setting goals and achieving them.

Enjoy what you do

This can be aptly applied to anything in life, so does it with yoga! Never try to overdo it with an intention of reaping instant results. If you do not enjoy what you do, you are more unlikely to keep up with it. It should be something that you do with passion. As a tip, you can include a variety of yoga techniques.

The final tip would be to grab your mat, practice to embrace the beauty of yoga. Yoga is for everyone. Just give it a simple start and gradually develop your routine. Complicated poses and fancy yoga studios will never give you the true results. Enjoy the journey!
